Networking is THE WAY to get a job in the Netherlands and that is why we wanted to provide you with an opportunity to network with as many people as possible during the Professional Development Fair. During this activity you will have a chance to present yourself and practice your elevator pitch multiple times in a “speed-dating” manner. After all, repetition is the mother of skill.

Would you like to win a free place in a Dutch language course, or one of other prizes provided by our partners? The good news is that your entrance ticket is your lottery ticket as well, so by joining the fair you automatically have a chance to win!

16:40-18:00  Information market + Informal borrel

Various hiring and career supporting companies will be represented at the information market and available for answering your questions and offering their services. The information market will be set up to offer five thematic areas:

Job Café

Would you like to meet HR-managers from various international companies operating in the Northern Netherlands? Forget endless email inquiries and nerve-wracking phone calls! Come to the Job Café and join the group of internationally-oriented human resources specialists for an informal chat. Learn about their actual job vacancies and those that might be offered in the near future. Bring along your CV and don’t miss the chance to make a great first impression in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere! 

Career support

There are so many aspects to the job search process and career development that every international struggles with trying to find their way to the labor market in the Northern Netherlands. We have invited the best specialists in the area to inform you about the ways they could support you and make your life easier while you focus on developing your professional skills and following your ambitions. 

Entrepreneurship club

Are you an intrepreneur providing services in English and operating in the Northern Netherlands? Then the expat community should know about you! Don’t miss your chance to promote your business (we will make sure every person visiting the Fair will be informed about your services), to share your experiences with other startup-ers, to get inspired by successful business stories, to learn about the relevant trends and projects, and of course to give your network a boost. 

PhD & postdoc career support

Visit this area to meet and talk with successful PhD’s eager to share their experiences regarding their career outside academia to help you make up your mind about your future career path and explore relevant job opportunities. Get support and get inspired!

Personal experiences corner

You came to the Netherlands with your BsC or Masters Degree and you would really like to start or continue your career here.  But how do you even start this process? And how did others, being in exact same situation as you, have found their way? We invite you to come and listen to personal stories from other expats who have successfully found a job in the Netherlands. Find out what their job search process looked like, what struggles they met on the way, what tips they would like to give you and what were their first impressions of working in a Dutch organization. These short presentations will be a great resource for anyone looking for a job right now.
